That’s right, I acquired my ticket to Chihara Minori’s SUMMER CAMP LIVE! \o/
I just got the August 2nd venue, but that is plenty good Minorin times for me. I’ll have to spend time with my host family after all, so I don’t want to have too much wota times during my stay. All I need to do now is find people to enjoy the concert with, since my other friend failed to get his ticket due to the circumstances…orz
And yes, AX is coming up this week. I’m more excited to be visiting friends in LA at the convention rather than the programming itself really, but I’ll be hoping to actually take pictures this time, now that I have a sexy new D90 and I won’t be too busy cosplaying. Not sure if I’ll stop by any Momusu events, but I’ll try if I get around to it. A friend of mine would really like to meet, anyhow. >__> If anyone else wants to meet at AX, er… comment or something?
So ya’ll know about that outdoor performance Minorin is having somewhere near Fujisan with nature and all that jazz, right? Well, since it’s kind of outside civilization, the nice people in Minorin’s management decided to milk more money help guests get to the venue with a special transport bus exclusively for Minorists. Yes, you too can join your fellow sweaty wota on a roadtrip to the concert. Of course, like the concert tickets, it is also a lotto, so if you’re planning on entering the concert raffle, why not spend another 15000-some odd yen to go on the MinoriBus?
If you ask me, I’m probably just going to stick with normal transportation. But I entered the concert lotto, so wish me luck~
You may have guessed it, but it’s already here–FanimeCon 2009. Of course, the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is Halko Momoi is all her greatness and glory, with panels galore and her big concert on Sunday at 8pm. Also, *cough* a few good friends of mine are in the -renewed- Maid Cafe this year, which will feature more “authenticity” than previous years and will have a little *live event* on Stage Zero on Saturday at 2pm. Meaning, even if you don’t have a badge, you can still walk into the convention center and watch. It’s possible that Momoi may even come to watch a bit of it(!). And you may be surprised with the set list–it’s pretty epic.
Taken 5/12, during a rehearsal for the Fanime live!
And although I’ve barely touched up on VOCALOID happenings, I will host a Panel about the singing synthesizers on Sunday at 5pm with Chun. I’ll try to rush him and keep the details short, so we can all line up for the Momoi concert after the panel. :9 Other than that, I’m not really cosplaying this year as I’ve already mentioned slightly.
Regardless, see ya’ll there!
P.S. Does anyone else think it’s downright badass of Momoi to link to a Nico Singer’s blog in her own blogroll (bottom left)? I’m sure Hong Ko~ng is pretty flattered, being on the same list with the likes of Minorin and Maita. (*^ー^
As the season of anime conventions is rolls in, the time to prep your costumes is running out. Do you even have a costume this year? I don’t (well, not any new ones). In fact, I’ll probably revert to going back to normal when I’m not doing maid cafe duties. But suppose if you (like me) don’t have a costume, but (unlike me) still want to enjoy the most celebrated tradition of anime conventions, then here’s a shortlist I’ve devised with things you can wear/do to animoot yourself to fit in with the other crazy cosplayers. Other live event performances she’s prepping up for include
I resisted all of Tuesday from watching any Perfume footage just so I won’t spoil myself from the incoming 「BUDOKaaaaaaaaaaN!!!!!」 DVD I’d get in the mail Wednesday. It’s well known that a good amount of performances from the event did not air during NHK’s special recap showing of the concert, and edge was one of the songs. All we knew from the behind-the-scenes footage, included in the airing, with the girls rehearsing their dance routines with MIKIKO, highlighting on edge’s dance. Just from the rehearsal video, all the viewers were amazed at their dance capabilities, as well as MIKIKO’s choreography. I think with the release of their concert DVD and the inevitable leaks onto the internet, the highly anticipated dance has led to great enlightenment throughout the Perfume fandom. I don’t care if they were just lip-syncing; that dance was HOT. Mad props to anyone who can even attempt to try their hand at the dance.
Another forgotten song that was not originally aired on NHK is plastic smile. It is largely one of the more unliked songs from GAME , but I think the dance may have won a few fans over. You have to admit, it’s pretty cute.
Some day they’ll release a dance tutorial DVD, just you wait.
So it’s been nearly a year since the last topic was established and passed around our femme bloggers. What happened, girls?
If this doesn’t ring any bells, I’ll refresh your mind. Sometime last summer, the female population of the animu blogosphere caused an uprising of feminism & girl power exclusive discussion table specifically for the female bloggers. Each month, our new found community would pic a topic concerning the otaku community to post about in our blogs There was much controversy of sexism and butt-hurt male bloggers, but nevertheless, its presence was made. However, within two topics into the function, the so-called “rebellion” pretty much, well, died. Even the hush-hush secret forum is very much inactive (I believe the last post was created by your’s truly in January, also questioning our inactivity).
Was this a lost cause? Were we all just trying to get a little attention? Does anyone even want to revive the project? Let me put these topics on the table for this month’s discussion.
Oh, guys can respond, too. For shits ‘n giggles. P:
